The ministry for Foreign Affairs takes great pleasure in announcing Rohans formal Alliance to two 'international' regions. Nasicournia a large democratic region renowned for standing in the defence of other regions and Cair Paravel the C.S. Lewis the small but lievely region are now both in formal Alliance with Rohan.

UN Delegate Election

The electorial period is due to run from 12:00 GMT on the 16th of December to 12:00 GMT on the 23rd of December. The three candidates for the position of UN Delegate are MBoogie (ithiliens UN Nation), Krystallos and Stoo_Pot. All would make good Delegates and we look forward to the result.

All of Rohans UN members have been sent Telegrams informing them of the vote, as of course this vote is open only to UN Nations. Voting is to be completed via a telegram to The Buckland Hobbit-fleet of Gorhendad Brandybuck, in which the choice of candidate should be stated.

The candidates are allowed to canvass votes by all legitimate means. In order to help the transition of delegacy run smoothly all UN nations are requested to endorse all the candidates for the time being.

....but most of all VOTE!

Government Elections

Elections are also taking place for 2 governmental positions, the other 2 positions have only one candidate running and as such will not be put to the vote. Voting is to take place on Rohans forum where all nations are encouraged to register and have their say in the future!

International relations with non Tolkien themed regions opened as an Entertainment Officer is appointed

Rohan goes international and the Rohan Cup is inaugerated.

With Rohans place as the preeminent Middle Earth region firmly secured recent activity has lead to relations being established with several other large regions and organisations. Thus far Rohan has by choice kept formal relations with Tolkien themed regions only. It has become clear however that it is very much mutualy beneficial to establish relations with larger regions of international origin. Details of these ongoing developments can be found on the forum and nations of Rohan are encouraged air their views on this change of foreign affairs approach.

In other news Rohirric Legend has kindly voluntered his time to take up the newly established position of "Entertainment Officer". As his first order of business the Rohan Cup has been established. To be competed for through the Rohan league in www.stickcricket.com all nations are encouraged to take part. It is hoped that further developments in this area will allow all nations to participate as we are fully aware cricket is a mystery to many! Riders of Rohan triumph in several battles and continue their passage towards eternal glory!

Ranks formalised as Riders climb them with several victories

Under the wise leadership of the their Grand Marshal the Riders of Rohan have engaged in several battles recently, from all of which they rode out victorious!

Firstly in a mock attack on Middle Earths own Warzone the Riders stormed in and took the region boldly claiming the victory for the Sons of Eorl. No sooner had the warzone been vacated then their recently practiced coordination was called into active use in the defence of 0000 Middle Earth 000. This defensive action was of course ordered after information from a Scout of the Rohirrim sounded the alert. It was a hard battle, and an honor for the riders to fight along side other members of the various Middle Earth militaries.

The advent of the Tolkien Guard can only be a good thing for the future prospects of all our regions.

As a large well established region, Rohan now has jobs that need doing, vacancies that need filling and a military that needs taming!

Job Centre opened and Military ranks introduced

With the expansion that Rohan was undergone the organisation that is required to meet the demands this has put on the government, has lead to Rohan officially opening its Job Centre. Situated on the website the Job Centre is being used to advertise any vacancies that need filling or positions that are available within Rohan. It is hoped that the Job Centre will prove to be any easy form of reference for those new to Rohan seeking further involvement as well as making contact and inquires with the people responsible easier.

The Riders of Rohan are a brave and loyal fighting force. Members of the military now have the ability to raise their rank through experience. These ranks and their insignia can be found on the newly updated Military section of this website. The Rides of Rohan have also opened their own recruiting section in the Job Centre.

Did someone mention a new host and a chat site!

It is with great pleasure that I can formally announce the opening of our newly moved website. http://rohan.eorlingas.org. The keen eyed amongst you will have already noticed subtle differences and things are set to continue to change for the better! However before explaining further I must take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to our new host EORLINGAS.ORG

Eorlingas is no ordinary webserver. As fellow fans of the Riddermark and its inhabitants, we are now neighbours with a select few Rohan based websites and I would encourage you to visit the host site and our new neighbours. My personal thanks go to our new host DeeDee for such a warm welcome and all the help. I look forward to working together and of course you are very welcome to come visit us at any time!

The move to Eorlingas is not only a cosmetic one as I now have access to all the bells and whistles that were not available previously. As such it only seems fitting that I give you an example off what is available. We now have a CHAT page! Yes that's correct our own chat page on our own website. It is open for your use and should work from all modern web browsers.

The chat page is open to all. As members of Rohan I would encourage you to register using your Nations name, however Guests are currently welcome to log in without registration, in a similar fashion to the forum. As with all things the chat page will be developed as we gain experience of its use but for now enjoy it!

In view of the excessive workload and responsibility involved in holding two key roles, Jourmama has agreed to stand down as UN Delegate and , in accordance with our existing regional laws, Krystallos will become the new UN Delegate. The “forum” responsibilities of the UN Delegate will transfer to Krystallos with immediate effect. Jourmama will retain the specific “NationStates” responsibilities until Krystallos has sufficient endorsements to be the UN Delegate. Jourmama will take over the position of Deputy UN Delegate

Beleg Cuthalion has agreed to withdraw his candidacy for Head of Defence in return for a specific role in that department.

I look forward to working with everyone to help improve life here in Rohan and I hope we can offer support and advice to those appointed to help the region.

The dates were set and the candidates nominated. UN Nations travelled from far and wide to cast their votes. Rohan can stand tall for ours was a free and fair election.

Rohans new UN Delegate : Korhal V (aka Jourmama)
It is with great pleasure that Rohan can announce to one and all that its new UN Delegate is Korhal V (aka Jourmama). Bound by the rules of the delegacy as published on this site and debated in the forum, he has our support and congratulations. All UN Nations are now requested to endorse Korhal V (if you have not already done so) in order to secure a safe and timely hand over of power.

Krystallos will be taking up the position of Deputy Delegate and will no doubt become involved with other areas of Rohans governance.

In this time of celebration the hard work and time that "The Lars" put into the last month and in particular securing Rohan for us all must not be forgotten. He has our deepest gratitude and thanks.

The other advertised roles in Government as well as some previously unmentioned roles are currently being finalised and will be announced accordingly.

Other news: You will notice that this website has undergone somewhat of a styling and content update, in particular the Region Details section has had a big content update. Whilst the site is under constant review and slow improvement, it is my hope the new government Ministerial position holders will help with the content for further expansion of the relevant pages here. Each Ministry shall in time have its own section.

With the UN Delegate elections scheduled for the 5th of October, the time for nominations is fast running out. The caretaker government would like to encourage all that are interested in the future of Rohan to become involved in these elections.

The position of UN Delegate is up for election in the coming days.

All those interested in putting themselves forward for this position should send a TG to Gorhendad Brandybuck - who will act as the election official and is 100% trustworthy.

All nominations must be in by the 4th of October and the elections will run from the 5th to the 12th.

Other Available Positions
There are other positions available and currently anyone that is interested or who feels they would like to make a contribution is very welcome. These areas are quoted below and the current Nations with overall responsibility in these areas are listed.
